Cricket World Cup 2023: IND vs AUS Fantasy Preview and Rummy Bo Top Picks

Match: India vs Australia, Cricket World Cup 2023 (India vs Australia)

Date: October 8, Sunday, 2.00 PM IST

Venue: M Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai

Hosts India, led by Rohit Sharma, will begin their 2023 World Cup campaign against Australia at Chennai’s M Chidambaram Stadium. Australia are the most successful team at the ODI World Cup, having won the 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2015 editions. They are the only side to win three successive ODI World Cup titles. India, who won the trophy in 1987 and 2011, will be looking for a third one.

India are one of the top contenders to win the coveted trophy this year. They have most of their bases covered and are coming into the tournament on the back of a Asia Cup title. India have a solid batting line-up, and also in-form bowlers like Mohammed Siraj. A couple of months ago, they defeated Australia 2-1 in an ODI series.

Australia, on the other hand, boast of a formidable pace attack which can give a tough challenge to the best of batsmen. Their batsmen, too, have plenty of experience playing in Indian conditions. David Warner, Steve Smith, Mitchell Marsh, Cameron Green, Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell are all world class batsmen who have played a lot of cricket in the IPL.

Both the teams have played some nail biting matches in Chennai in the past, and fans will be hoping for another closely fought contest

Ahead of the fifth game of Cricket World Cup 2023, here’s everything you need to know to maximise your chances of winning cash prizes on Rummy Bo fantasy.

He has a record of rising up to the occasion in big tournaments, and we saw this recently as well, when he scored a century against Pakistan at the Asia Cup. He also delivered the goods in the T20 world cup match against Pakistan last year. Kohli has delivered some good performances in the recent past, scoring seven international tons since September 2022.

Mitchell Starc – bowler, Australia

Mitchell Starc has been one of Australia’s top performers in each of the World Cups he’s been a part of. He can make the best of batsmen dance to his tunes with the new ball.

Adam Zampa – bowler, Australia

Another Australian bowler to watch out for is spinner Adam Zampa, who will be crucial to his team’s performance on Indian pitches. He is known to provide crucial breakthroughs and is also an economical bowler. He has taken 142 wickets in 85 ODIs for Australia and has an economy rate of 5.53.

Rohit Sharma – batsman, India

The Indian skipper will be eager to create a legacy for himself not just as a World Cup winning captain but as a captain who performed well. With Shubman Gill unavailable for the first ODI, the onus to score runs at the top will be on Rohit, who will open the innings alongside Ishan Kishan. Notably, he smashed a knock of 81 runs in his only innings against Australia last month.

Mohammed Siraj – bowler, India

Going by his recent form, Mohammed Siraj is expected to play a big role for India at the World Cup. He six-wicket haul in the final of the Asia Cup helped bowl out Sri Lanka for just 50 runs and he will be looking to deliver similar performances at the World Cup.
