The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have called up West Indian cricketer Jason Holder as a replacement for Mitchell Marsh, who has been ruled out for the whole of the tournament owing to an ankle injury sustained in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The Australian cricketer had a decent run in the recently concluded 3-match ODIs versus England, amassing 73 runs and a fifty, and grabbing a couple of wickets at an economy of 5.42.

Marsh suffered an ankle injury in the first over that he bowled and immediately walked off after bowling the fourth delivery. However, he came out to bat at No 10 when SRH needed 21 in the final two overs. He was dismissed on a golden duck to Shivam Dube’s delivery.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s official Twitter handle posted the news of Mitchell Marsh being ruled out for the remainder of the tournament, and Caribbean cricketer James Holder to be roped in as his replacement.
In IPL, Holder has been a part of merely 11 contests and scalped 5 wickets at an economy of 8.50, and scored just 38 runs in 5 innings. Earlier, he was a member of Chennai Super Kings (2013), Sunrisers Hyderabad (2014) and finally Kolkata Knight Riders (2016) in the last edition that he played.

In 116 T20s, the 28-year-old bowling all-rounder has affected 91 dismissals averaging 33.01, and aggregated just 949 runs with couple of fifty plus totals.
It’s unlikely that Holder makes himself available for SRH’s next match against KKR set to take place on September 26. He will now have to be quarantined in UAE for six days as he wasn’t in the biosecure bubble. Also, he will have to test negative twice as only then he can join the team for the training sessions.
