Gameplay

• If a player lands on the face of a snake, the token will slip down several notches to the snake's lower-numbered square.
• If a die rolls the 6, the player moves 6 squares and gets an extra turn. Otherwise, the game moves over to the next player. The first player to bring their token to the last square becomes the winner.

Rules to Remember in Snakes and Ladders

• An unlucky move in the game is when the token lands on the number with the snake's face. The token will then move steadily down and land at the number where the snake's tail ends.
• A lucky move is when the token falls on the ladder's base; the player will immediately move to the top.
• However, the spot will remain unchanged if the player is on the bottom of the snake or the top of the ladder. The player will remain unaffected and will continue to roll the dice. The game rules specify that they can never move down the ladder.
• Two tokens can overlap simultaneously without knocking anyone out. The players can stay on the same number until the dice are rolled for the next turn.
• As you reach closer to the 100 mark, the player has to roll the exact number required. Otherwise, they will have to wait for the next turn. It is in this part that luck comes into play. For instance, if a player reaches 96 and the die rolls a 5, they cannot move the token until it gets the number 4 on the die. If they reach the number 99, they must wait until they get one on the dice.

How to Play Snakes and Ladders Board Game on Rummy Bo?

Winning in Snakes and Ladders

When a player lands all their tokens in the final square of the board (the number 100) before any other opponent, the snake and ladder game ends. The game may also end once each player has exhausted the given number of moves. Once the game ends, the player with the highest score becomes the winner.

Variations

A variation of the snakes and ladders game is when the player must roll the exact number to reach the square. If the die roll is too large, the token is either in place or goes away from the final square and returns again. For example, if a player requires a 3 in the first turn but rolls a 5 instead, the token will move forward by 3 steps and back by two spaces. Another example is when the player rolls a 5 and needs 1 to win, they will move back by four spaces.

Another game version is Adders and Ladders, which has no dice and at least five of the same tokens. All the players share those tokens. This specimen can be played with five tokens on a five-by-five board. There are no dice; instead, the player chooses a particular token and moves it between one to four spaces. The first player who moves the last token to the last number wins.
