The Indian Premier League (IPL) is arguably the best T20 tournament in the world that offers a platform for the young and rising cricketers to showcase their prowess against some of the best cricketers in the limited-overs. There are a few budding talents who are getting the eyes onto themselves with their stellar exhibitions in the season underway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, who plays for the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and under the wing of the Indian spin legend Anil Kumble, is someone who has made the cricket fraternity go gaga with his leg-breaks and googlies.

In a discussion with former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan, Graeme Swann shared his views on young lot of Indian cricketers on the basis of how they have performed in IPL 2020.
Swann, who is rated as one of England’s best spinners to date, having played 60 Tests and picked 255 wickets, while discussing on Shivam Mavi and Devdutt Padikkal, spoke highly of Ravi Bishnoi.
Ravi Bishnoi has been outstanding: Graeme Swann
“There have been so many cricketers. Every year you see three or four guys coming up, and everyone is taking notice of them. Devdutt Padikkal, Shivam Mavi but most impressive for me has been Bishnoi, the way he has bowled, he has been outstanding,” said the 41-year-old Northampton-born on the Star Sports show Cricket Connected.
Even Irfan Pathan lauded the variations that Bishnoi possesses in his armory and the manner in which the spinner bounced back in the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
“What I like is that in the first game he bowled well. In the second game as soon as he came into bowl, Aaron Finch put pressure on him in the powerplay, took 15 runs out of him, but he made a comeback, that was outstanding,” said Pathan.

On a lighter note, the Englishman said that he would be extremely happy if he could steal him for their team as they are in desperate need of leg-spinners.
“I have been very very impressed, and I am pretty sure that he must have an English grandad or something so that we can steal him because we are desperate for a leg-spinner, and you guys have so many leg-spinners over here who all play in the IPL.”

The 20-year-old can be next seen in action on October 4 in Dubai, when Kings XI Punjab will be locking horns with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
