IND vs BAN, Asia Cup 2023 match: Fantasy Preview and Rummy Bo Top Picks

Match: India vs Bangladesh, Asia Cup 2023, 12th match (IND vs BAN)

Date: September 15, Friday, 3.00 PM IST

Venue: R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo

The last Super Four game of the Asia Cup 2023 will be played between India and Bangladesh at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The result of this game will be inconsequential because the two finalists have been decided already. India and Sri Lanka will play the final.

Bangladesh and Pakistan, the other two teams in the Super Four, have been knocked out. Bangladesh, who lost to Sri Lanka in their previous match, will nevertheless look to end their campaign on a winning note. However, it be noted that they have never defeated India in an ODI in Sri Lanka.

Against Sri Lanka in their recent match, the Bangladeshi bowlers impressed by restricting the opponents to a first innings total of 257. Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud picked up three wickets each. However, their batting once again disappointed as except a knock of 82 runs from Towhid Hridoy, no other batsman could contribute much and they eventually lost the game by 21 runs.

India, meanwhile, come into the game on the back of an unbeaten streak. Their most recent win came over Sri Lanka after the bowlers helped defend a gettable target. Batting first, India scored a total of only 213 but the bowlers put on a brilliant display. Kuldeep Yadav, who picked up five wickets against Pakistan, picked up another four wickets against Sri Lanka while Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja picked up two each.

Ahead of the match between India and Bangladesh, here’s everything you need to know to maximise your chances of winning on Rummy Bo.

Weather update and pitch report for IND vs BAN, Asia Cup 2023, match 12

Batting has not looked easy in Colombo. The spinners have got the maximum assistance from the surface but the pacers will also enjoy bowling here due to overcast conditions. The toss-winning team will look to bat first. Overall, a total of 159 ODI matches have been played here, of which 87 have been won by teams batting first. The average first innings total is 233.

It will be partly cloudy in Colombo and intermittent showers could disrupt the proceedings of the match. That is how the weather has been in Colombo over the past one week. Rain may play spoilsport to the final as well.

Five players to watch out for

Here we list five players you must pick in your Rummy Bo fantasy XI for IND vs BAN, Asia Cup 2023

Mehidy Hasan Miraz – batsman, Bangladesh

Mehidy Hasan Miraz will be looking to take confidence from the century he scored against India in an ODI last year. He is also the second highest run-scorer for Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2023, and recently scored an unbeaten 112 against Afghanistan.

Taskin Ahmed – bowler, Bangladesh

Taskin Ahmed is the joint-highest wicket-taker in Asia Cup 2023, with nine wickets in four games at an average of 19.11. He has consistently delivered the goods for Bangladesh with the ball and will be important in dismissing India’s top order batsmen.

Rohit Sharma – batsman, India

With 194 runs, Rohit Sharma is currently the highest run-scorer in the Asia Cup 2023. Apart from the early dismissal in his first innings, Sharma has scored a half century in each of the next three games. He brings with him plenty of experience and expertise and is a good choice for your Rummy Bo team’s captaincy for this game.

Shubman Gill – batsman, India

Another batsman to have in your Rummy Bo team is Shubman Gill, who has scored 154 runs in four innings at an average of 51.33 and a strike rate of 90.05, with two half-centuries. Gill and Sharma complement each other well at the top of the order.

Kuldeep Yadav – bowler, India

Kuldeep Yadav has been India’s match winner across the last two games. He has been making the most of the spin friendly conditions in Colombo. Kuldeep picked up five wickets against Pakistan and another four against Sri Lanka. He will be looking for another match-winning spell at the same venue.
