IND vs SL, Asia Cup 2023 match: Fantasy Preview and Rummy Bo Top Picks

Match: India vs Sri Lanka, Asia Cup 2023 match (IND vs SL)

Date: September 17, Sunday, 3.00 PM IST

Venue: R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo

After 12 ODI games, we are now into the final of the Asia Cup 2023 which will be played between India and Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday. India come into this game on the back of a loss at the hands of Bangladesh, which was also India’s first loss in the tournament and Bangladesh’s first win.

The primary reason for India’s loss was their poor performance with the bat. Apart from Shubman Gill who scored a knock of 121 runs, no other batsman could get going. India rested the likes of Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya for this game, as they had already qualified for the final. But in their absence, India went on to lose the game by six runs.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, defeated Pakistan in their previous game to make it to the final. Three wickets by Matheesha Pathirana helped Sri Lanka restrict Pakistan to a first innings total of 252, which their batsman chased down in only 42 overs on the back of impressive knocks from Kusal Mendis (91), Sadeera Samarawickrama (48) and Charith Asalanka (49).

Sri Lanka and India earlier met in the Super 4 round when India batted poorly but managed to defend the target. Batting first, India scored 213 runs on the board on the back of a half century from Rohit Sharma. But four wickets by Kuldeep Yadav helped them defend the target.

India and Sri Lanka have 13 Asia Cup titles between them. India have won the trophy seven times, while Sri Lanka have six titles.
