T20 World Cup Fantasy League
About T20 World Cup
The ICC Men's T20 World Cup will return with its eighth edition this October when Sri Lanka takes on Namibia at Victoria's Geelong Cricket Ground on October 16, 2022, in the first qualifier group stage match. After a Covid-struck T20 World Cup last year, which saw the BCCI host it in UAE, the biggest tournament of the shortest format will return to defending champions' turf Australia in 2022.
The ICC T20 World 2022 venues will be eight stadiums in Australia - Simonds Stadium, Bellerive Oval, Sydney Cricket Ground, Perth Stadium, Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Gabba, and the Adelaide Oval - from October 16 to November 13.
Participants can build their fantasy cricket team on Rummy Bo during the almost one-month-long tournament and win rewards daily.

How to participate in the T20 World Cup Fantasy League?
With five different cricketing nations winning this ICC tournament in the last six editions, cricket hasn't been any more unpredictable for the fans. This World Cup is bound to see new cricketing stars emerge who will go on to rule the roost in the coming decade.
With so many permutations and combinations possible in this tournament, you must be at the top of your game while creating fantasy teams worthy of becoming world-beaters in the fantasy league. You can participate in the T20 World Cup Fantasy League by going to the fantasy tab on the Rummy Bo app, which is situated at the bottom of the landing page. Once you select "fantasy cricket" there, all the upcoming World Cup matches will be available for you that you can compete in straight away.
Your fantasy cricket team must have players from all four positions - batsmen, bowlers, wicket-keepers and all-rounders. You will be allotted a total of 100 credits for buying players, although you can only bring in a maximum of 7 players from one team. One fantasy cricket team must have 1-4 wicket-keepers, 1-4 all-rounders, 3-6 batsmen and 3-6 bowlers.

Afghanistan
Unlike India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, who used Asia Cup 2022 to prepare their starting XI for the T20 World Cup suad, Afghanistan have made numerous changes following an unsuccessful intra-continental tournament. Samiullah Shinwari, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Afsar Zazai, Karim Janat and Noor Ahmad have all been left out of the WC squad, while Darwish Rasooli, Qais Ahmad and Salim Safi have all been added to the travelling team. Chief selector Noor Malikzai has hinted at Australian conditions for the change in the team.
"Since the Australian conditions offer further support for the fast bowlers, so we have added Salim Safi, the tall right-arm quick to add further impetus to our bowling department. Overall we have picked our best available players for the event and we are hopeful of them to do well and better represent the country in the mega event."

Mohammad Nabi (captain), Najibullah Zadran, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Azmatullah Omarzai, Darwish Rasooli, Farid Ahmad Malik, Fazal Haq Farooqi, Hazratullah Zazai, Ibrahim Zadran, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Naveen ul Haq, Qais Ahmad, Rashid Khan, Salim Safi, Usman Ghani. Standby Players: Afsar Zazai, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Rahmat Shah, Gulbadin Naib.
England
One of the bigger fishes of the T20 World Cup 2022 is England. Given their holistic approach with the bat, which won them the ICC ODI World Cup in 2019, England will continue to bat deep this time as well. Having hard hitters like Ben Stokes and Liam Livingstone higher up will have a cushion with someone Chris Woakes coming at number 8. A team of many all-rounders, England carry a major threat, however, death over bowling remains a major concern for them. Despite having many options in Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali and Livingstone, none of them have been matchwinners with the ball in the recent past. Injuries will also play a huge role in team selection due to their recent fitness struggles.
England squad for ICC T20 2022 World Cup: Jos Buttler (captain), Moeen Ali, Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, Liam Livingstone, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Ben Stokes, Reece Topley, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, Alex Hales. Standby Players: Liam Dawson, Richard Gleeson, Tymal Mills.
Australia
Australians were not the hot favourites to win the T20 championship last edition. Not only were their players not in form, but the subcontinental conditions also didn't play to their favour. However, after the team finished second in the group stages, the players stepped up to beat an in-form Pakistan and rivals New Zealand to lift the title.
Australia squad for ICC T20 2022 World Cup: Aaron Finch (captain), Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, Tim David, Josh Hazlewood, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson, Steven Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, David Warner, Adam Zampa.
New Zealand
The defending champions of the World Test Championship and the runner-up of the 2019 ODI World Cup, New Zealand, have failed to get their grip in the ICC tournament despite having some of the best talents of the shortest format. However, with things seemingly falling in place for the Black Caps in the recent past, Kane Williamson and Co. will look to make the most of their momentum.
New Zealand squad for ICC T20 2022 World Cup: Kane Williamson (captain), Tim Southee, Ish Sodhi, Mitchell Santner, Glenn Phillips, Jimmy Neesham, Daryl Mitchell, Adam Milne, Martin Guptill, Lachlan Ferguson, Devon Conway, Mark Chapman, Michael Bracewell, Trent Boult, Finn Allen.
Apart from England, Australia, Afghanistan and New Zealand, who have already qualified for the Super 12 phase, Group 1 will see two more teams - Group A winner and Group B runner-up - qualifying in this group before the T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12s begin on October 22.
Group 2
India
After a disappointing Asia Cup 2022 campaign in UAE, the Men in Blue - the winner of the very first T20 World Cup held in 2007 in South Africa, have to improve significantly to remain a contender in Australia. The Men in Blue had reached the final of the 2014 T20 World Cup as well, but neighbours Sri Lanka eventually ran away with the mantle after a 6 wickets win. However, an in-form Virat Kohli could turn the tables in India's favour although they will come to the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 without star bowler Jasprit Bumrah. The Men in Blue come to the world event on the back of T20I series wins against South Africa and Australia, giving them much-needed confidence.
India T20 World Cup 2022 Squad: Rohit Sharma (Captain), KL Rahul (vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), Hardik Pandya, R. Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh.
Pakistan
The very first runner-up in the ICC T20 World Cup history and the winner of the title in the very next edition, Pakistan are one of the only five teams to ever lift this ICC trophy. The Men in Green have done well in the T20 format compared to the last few years, reaching the semi-final in the previous edition and final of the Asia Cup. India's fall from grace has also led to them being the new Asian giants. However, they are yet to lift an ICC trophy since 2017 and Babar Azam's men will be desperate to change that.
Squad: To be Announced
South Africa
South Africa came ridiculously close to qualifying for the knockout stages last time, missing out on the second spot by a whisker courtesy of their inferior net run rate. The Proteas will look to better that record at the back of the brilliant T20 form of David Miller and Faf du Plessis. The team went toe to toe with India away from home before surrendering the T20I series and will look to do one better at the World Cup.
South Africa squad for ICC T20 2022 World Cup: Temba Bavuma (c), Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, Reeza Hendricks, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Wayne Parnell, Kagiso Rabada, Rillee Rossouw, Tabraiz Shamsi, Tristan Stubbs. Standby Players: Bjorn Fortuin, Marco Jansen, Andile Phehlukwayo.
Bangladesh
The Bangla Tigers haven't been at their sharpest in the shortest format of the game. They have played over 33 matches in the T20 World Cup so far, winning only seven thus signalling the cricket board's failure to decode this tournament. Since 2021, Bangladesh have won just seven of the 31 T20I matches they have played, and their struggle was evident in the recently-concluded Asia Cup as well. They come to the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 at the back of a 4-0 drubbing by New Zealand.
Bangladesh squad for ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Afif Hossain, Mossadek Hossain, Litton Das, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Saifuddin, Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain, Hasan Mahmud, Najmul Hossain, Nasum Ahmed. Standby Players: Shoriful Islam, Shak Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Soumya Sarkar.
Apart from India, Pakistan, South Africa and Bangladesh, Group 2 will see the Group A runner-up and Group B winner joining them after the qualifying stages.

Tips and Tricks to play T20 World Cup Fantasy League
Creating the perfect cricket fantasy team requires a lot of planning and research as you have to stay up to date with all the developments concerning team news and player injuries. Not only that, but players should also be picked according to the opponents and playing conditions. Here are a few tips and tricks to play the T20 World Cup fantasy league on Rummy Bo.
- Create your fantasy team keeping in mind the host country: While players like Keiron Pollard, Andre Russell, Ben Stokes and others might be T20 superstars, you should dig up their recent performances in UAE, which is the host country for ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Check performances of players in the Indian T20 League, Pakistan Super League, and other T20 domestic tournaments before picking your players. We have made it easier for you to keep tabs on teams and players. Read our blogs for regular updates on everything related to fantasy league like the probable XI, the best performers ahead of a game, among others.
- Keep an eye on the playing conditions: No other format of cricket gets as much influenced by the playing conditions as T20. The four-hour playing duration gives each team very little time to adapt once the game starts and your fantasy team players should also be picked, keeping the pitch report and the weather conditions in mind.
- Know about lesser-known players: While the household names of T20 cricket are easy picks for any match, chances are opponents have a game plan to use against them in T20 World Cup 2022. Hence, your fantasy team should be balanced with superstars as well as the lesser-known squad players or debutants, who will be eager to make a difference on the biggest stage.
- Pick your captain and vice-captain wisely: With Rummy Bo's fantasy cricket giving 2x and 1.5 x points respectively, to your captain and vice-captain, it is obvious that those two selections will end up being the game-changer for you in fantasy leagues. Hence, you should spend the most time picking these two players wisely.
