South Africa and Afghanistan will play the next game of Cricket World Cup 2023 on November 10 ar the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. South Africa, who have already made it to the semi finals, come into this game on the back of a loss at the hands of table toppers India.
Fielding first, their bowlers conceded 326 runs while picking up five wickets. Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi picked up a wicket each. In the chase, however, South Africa were bowled out for merely 83 runs. Seven of their batsmen were dismissed for single digit scores. The top score of only 14 came from Marco Jansen. Afghanistan have already been eliminated from the race to the semi finals. They come into this game on the back of a loss to Australia. Ibrahim Zadran remained unbeaten on 129 but did not get much support from the other batsmen as Afghanistan were eventually able to post 291 for 5. However, they were unable to defend the target as Australia chased it down in 46.5 overs. Naveen ul Haq, Azmatullah Omarzai and Rashid Khan picked up two wickets each. While they are already eliminated from the race to the knockouts, Afghanistan will look to sign off from the tournament with a victory.
