Manchester City will start their pre-season as they will take on Club America at NRG Stadium on Thursday.
City’s top flight rivals have already begun their preparations but the English champion has not been involved in any kind of matches so far. The Citizens have seen a pretty busy summer transfer window as there have been a number of arrivals and departures at the club.
Pep Guardiola has welcomed Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips and Julian Alvarez while Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Fernandinho have left the club.
Bernardo Silva has been linked with a move but the Portuguese is likely to play a vital role in the upcoming season should he stay at the Etihad Stadium.
City have been dominating the Premier League winning the Premier League title three times in the last four years but they have failed to get the ball rolling in the Champions League.
Significant changes have been made to the side and the Spanish manager will again try to prove his worth in the European competition this time.
They will be facing Club America and Bayern Munich in two pre-season fixtures and will return to England in a bid to prepare for the Community Shield fixture against Liverpool.
They are returning to Premier League action on 7th August when they will take on West Ham United.
Club America lost to Chelsea 2-1 and will be looking to make amends against City. The Mexican giants have been the most successful team with 13 titles and have drawn one, lost one and won so far in the Mexican League.
