Real Madrid will take on Juventus in a pre-season friendly at the Rose Bowl on Sunday.
Madrid had an excellent campaign last season as they did double of Champions League and La Liga. Karim Benzema led from the front as the France international had an overwhelming time for Los Blancos.
Madrid started their preseason with a 1-0 defeat to archrival Barcelona followed by a 2-2 draw with Club America.
The Spanish giants have wrapped up their transfer dealings pretty early as they have signed Aurelian Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger to strengthen their ranks this summer.
Carlo Ancelotti seems to be very happy with how the squad has shaped and the Italian manager is unlikely to summon any other player as of now.
This will be Madrid’s last preseason match as they will then take on Frankfurt in the UEFA Super Cup on 10th August. They are yet to lodge a victory in their preseason fixtures and this match will pose a real test to them.
Madrid would be in the hunt for a striker in case Mariano Diaz and Marco Asensio leave the club in the coming days. Both the player are unlikely to have much game time and thus could decide to leave the Santiago Bernabeu in search of regular football.
Juventus had a season to forget as they couldn’t have any success under the stewardship of Max Allegri. They had to be satisfied with a 4th place finish in the Serie A and in the Champions League too they were knocked out from the round of 16.
The club has strengthened their squad with the addition of Gleison Bremer, Paul Pogba, Angel di Maria and Andrea Cambiaso. Their priority will be to dominate the Italian top flight alongside a good performance in the Champions League.
More than 90,000 is expected to throng the stadium for this match as it could be the largest gathering of spectators since Covid-19 broke out.
