David de Gea
David de Gea is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world currently. Despite Manchester United struggling in the recently concluded Premier League season the Spanish custodian’s heroics in the goal saved the Red Devils from blushes a lot of time.
He has been severely criticised for his passing skills but he has made amends with his brilliant shot stopping skills and his amazing reflexes. He also saved three penalties in the English top tier last season which is a joint record. He will be seen next in the Europa League next season
Samir Handanovic
Samir Handanovic doesn’t get the recognition that he should be getting from this football world. Samir Handanovic has been an ever present in Inter Milan’s campaign last term and has been the preferred choice keeper for the Italian side in the last few seasons.
The 37 year old has had a decorated playing career and played in 37 games in the Serie A in the last season. Inter narrowly failed to defend their title as AC Milan ran away with the Italian title. He also is in the second number with 15 clean sheets to his name.
Peter Gulacsi
Peter Gulacsi is a relatively unknown goalkeeper who plies his trade for RB Leipzig. He has all the necessary attributes of a top keeper and is also the current captain of the German club. His reflexes and winning mentality have been a key factor behind his rise and his ball playing ability has also helped his club.
Manuel Neuer
Manuel Neuer has been a pivotal part of Bayern Munich since he arrived at the Allianz Arena from Schalke in 2011. The 36 year old has a pretty coveted trophy cabinet which includes one World Cup, two UEFA Champions League titles and ten Bundesliga titles.
He has also been a constant in the goal for the Germany national team and is among the most sought after goalkeepers in the current scenario. Neuer is expected to be the number one choice when Germany takes the field in the World Cup later this year.
Edouard Mendy
Edouard Mendy has been a reliable name for Chelsea as the Senegalese keeper has maintained his high standard throughout the season. He has been the first choice keeper for Thomas Tuchel and is likely to be one of the first names on the teamsheet next season too.
The keeper had a whirlwind 2022 winning the AFCON and the club world cup for the Blues and he has established himself as one of the most successful keepers in the history of the club. He is very comfortable with the ball at his feet and can be equally comfortable in any kind of situations
Mike Maignan
Mike Maignan lifted his maiden Serie A title with AC Milan as the Italian club ended its 11 year trophy drought in the 2021-22 season. Maignan finished the season with 17 clean sheets to his name which is the highest in the Italian top flight
Despite carrying his responsibilities pretty sincerely Maignan is yet to get the recognition for his trickery in the goal. The French man is tipped to succeed Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris as the next French number one.
Jan Oblak
Jan Oblak has been a game changer for Atletico Madrid for the last few seasons. The giant shot stopper has been resisting every kind of attack on him in the goal and his strong arm has been assisting in the proceedings.
He has managed only 12 clean sheets in the La Liga this time but that doesn’t take away his qualities at all.
Ederson
Ederson arrived at Manchester City from Benfica back in 2017 and since then has been an established goalkeeper at the Etihad Stadium. The Brazilian custodian already has four Premier League medals to his name and is eyeing many more.
Pep Guardiola’s idea of a ball playing keeper has been fulfilled by the 28 year old as very few shot stoppers in the Premier League can match his passing skill.
Thibaut Courtois
Thibaut Courtois is finally having his redemption at Real Madrid having won the UEFA Champions League and La Liga in a single season for the first time in his career. The Belgian goalkeeper is touted to be one of the best in the business and he finally had his most successful season in Spain as he registered the second highest number of clean sheets in the Spanish top tier.
Alisson
